CONQUEST RIFLES HISTORY
2006-2007 Precision Rifle Team
The Conquest Rifles is the Army JROTC precision and sporter junior air rifle team. The name comes from the school mascot, "CONQUISTADORES" and was adopted by the team prior to the start of the 2006-2007 school year. The precision team broke all pre-established school records and became the district champion, substantially surpassing all other 6 district school precision rifle teams. The Conquest Rifles also made a statement that year by placing 2nd in Texas in the open category and 1st in the JROTC category in the 2006 Junior Olympic 3-Position Shooting Championship (JOSC). Continuing this climb, they achieved 2nd place (2283)in the 2006 New Mexico State/Western Region Cup Match in Albuquerque, NM losing by 5 points to the previous National JROTC champion team, La Cueva HS MCJROTC (2288). Since then the team remains undefeated in district and qualified for all JROTC national competitions and USA Shoopting Junior Olympic air rifle shooting events.
